Cheap wood makes a stand that doesn't last very long

Basically this laptop stand seems useful to put on your desk. It comes in a flat wooden box. and metal parts to be twisted. The stand consists of 5 parts: two wooden legs with metal legs, a wooden crossbar to connect the legs, and two metal L-arms that screw into the wooden legs and provide a surface on which to place the laptop. looks good and the basic design looks good. Unfortunately, the reality is that this laptop stand is not well made. I became immediately concerned when examining the wooden parts of the stand. I am not sure what type of wood was used for this item but it is very light. like balsa light. This means it won't last very long. Given that this stand relies on wooden parts to hold everything together, cheap wooden legs are a bit of a problem. Anyway, I found that the metal legs were attached to the legs with a couple of small foam covered screws. The screws had been pulled out of the wood before I started assembling the item and the legs were wobbly as a result. I had to completely replace one of the screws because the screw hole in the wood had been cleaned out. I then had to glue the other screws with wood glue to keep the legs from falling off. Funny that he came to me in an already broken box. The crosspiece and metal levers are attached with sturdier bolts that enter nuts driven into the tree. I was concerned that too much torque might snap the nuts right off the tree. I tightened them as tight as I dared and encountered the next problem. The stand is not level when in use. You have to twist and manipulate it to make it sit straight. God forbid you move it. You need to set it up again. Now it holds the laptop perfectly and looks good on the table, so can't use it. until you print on it. I'm just not impressed with the wood it's made of. The wood is too light to support significant loads (hence the screw problem I mentioned earlier). If you move this stand often, it will soon fall apart. Is it worth the $20 purchase price (as of this writing)? Based on my experience with him... I would say no.
