Review on D-Link DCM-202 High-Speed USB/Ethernet Cable Modem 2.0 by Seth Damain

Installation took about 15 minutes including my time on the phone with Time Warner. It would have taken less time, but the model number had to be added to their system (couldn't be the first, could I?). DCM202 connected on the first try! I haven't had any luck with the Motorola Standard Edition that I've had in the past. Not sure about the speed boost yet, but so far so good. There is an error in the documentation - the web administration can be accessed from 192.168.100.1 and not another IP they list and you don't have to reconfigure your TCP stack to connect to it. They probably made it look more complicated than it is to put off the average user. Passwords can vary, so search on Google.
