It saved my friend's sneakers!

UPDATE: A month later, I noticed my friend's boots are looking a bit blurry again. I took a damp paper towel and wiped away the remaining snow, salt and dirt. After a little buffing with a dry paper towel they are back to how they looked after a restoration I did a month ago. See the last photo for the latest condition. This product is perfect. Got this to restore the original shine to my friend's sneakers. She got them for Christmas last winter and when she pulled them out of the closet last fall they were covered in white foil. After some research on the internet I found out that this is rubber oxidation and this is a fairly common phenomenon. The cure is Hunter boot spray which I searched on Revain and found this product. I chose this product because the boots I wanted to use it on are only part rubber and part fabric. I didn't want to worry about splashes staining the fabric. Also, I didn't want to get in trouble with my girlfriend. Check out the images below for before and after photos. The instructions say to apply with a dry cloth, turning the cloth frequently. I've found that gum sanitation is more than that. First, I applied UV Tech liberally to a couple of folded paper towels. When you apply the cleanser it doesn't seem to do much at first, but keep rubbing it in while wet. I found that the more cleaner I used, the easier it was to get into every nook and cranny within reason. I repeated the process several times until all oxidation appeared to be removed. As a final step, I took a clean, dry paper towel and buffed the rubber to a nice shine. The boots literally look like new and have made me a superhero in my girlfriend's eyes.
