Update 01/21/21: Still my favorite hair dryer, maybe ever. So smooth and lightweight it dries my hair FAST even when using a heavy conditioner which tends to leave it wet to the touch. I've been told I'm exaggerating the quiet feature, so of course let me say it's still a hair dryer; It's moving air at high speeds and there's a motor, so the noise is audible, but it's not the loud grinding noise of a classic dryer. But for now, even though I have a few other options, this is still my favorite hair dryer. First Tip: After not taking good care of my hair for a long time, I've recently been reinvesting in my own grooming. I ordered 3 different hair dryers - budget, medium (this one) and relatively top. This hair dryer was my favorite of the three. Why? SO CALM. I believe the infrared technology makes the dryer less dependent on a traditional watt motor and drying is a lot quieter and hassle free as a result. I also really like the position of the switch on this dryer. The bottom end dryer didn't perform as well as this one, but the switches were ok. On a high-end dryer, it was meant to be used by a stylist, so the rocker switches on the outside of the handle were being pushed when I tried to use it. This hair dryer combines functional switches with a convenient position for home use and superior performance at a price that is actually quite affordable when it comes to high-end hair tools. Such products are an investment and also contribute to sustainable slow consumption. Sure, it's a bit more expensive, but do you want to buy a new $50 hair dryer every 2-4 years, or maybe have this one for 20+? The hair dryer is easy to clean and the swivel cord makes it easy to use without tangling. It is clear that a lot of thought has gone into the design, as the weight of the hand and the movement of the dryer are comfortable and light. Overall I am very happy with this hair dryer and would recommend it to anyone. I'm pretty sure I'll be reaching for this first one in years.
