Worked on a mountain bike
I don't know who decided mountain bikes shouldn't have footpegs. If this were done to save weight then the weight of this part would be minimal. If it were a matter of ride height, other parts (like the rear sprocket) would be hanging under that footpeg. Someone said that the bolts were easy to tear off. I wasn't sure, so I just went for it. I ended up having to re-tighten them. Hoping they hold out. FYI I was able to secure it on the non-drive side chain until it released pedal travel and still holds the bike great.
