Review on FridaBaby Mom Perineal Healing Foam: Pain Relief & Swelling Reduction for Postpartum Care by Zach Clements

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Ineffectual instructions but great product.

I delivered an 8 lb 15 oz baby, who had the gall to get her shoulder stuck on my pelvis, resulting in 3rd degree perineal tearing. This product turned out to be great, but with a few caveats.1. If you apply as instructed - by squirting the foam onto a pad - you’ll be left with a deeply uncomfortable ticklish, drippy feeling and no pain relief. I originally wrote this off after a few days of that. A few weeks later I came back to it out of desperation and applied it directly by hand. Game changer. Instant pain relief and no bubbly feeling. This became my go to when pain meds wore off.2. The pain relief sensation only lasts for a few minutes after application. That made it a good product for later in my recovery, but not right after delivery.I docked a star for the ineffectual instructions. Other than that I highly recommend, especially if you are looking at an extended recovery period.

Pros
  • Provides immediate pain relief
Cons
  • May not be suitable for all postpartum delivery methods
