I am intimidated by the very expensive and difficult to use machines on the market. I've used French presses, funnels, and drip coffee makers before, so learning about espresso machines was a big step. After a delicious coffee that a friend prepared on this coffee maker and his recommendations for this device, I decided to buy it. It was very easy to use - no fuss and made a gorgeous, rich coffee with excellent frothed milk. LIKE - compact device (does not take up too much space on the table) - easy to use and clean, uncomplicated - makes good quality espresso, froths milk well - easy to pour in coffee, with enough space not to spill the coffee grounds DON'T LIKE - prone to very quick and dangerous destruction (the two I've had so far have had issues with a broken water seal causing hot water to squirt from the top, and then a broken steamer which also spills boiling milk over the whole machine spattered when suddenly twitched in the middle of work, occasionally hit the jug) - no frothing jug - for frothing, the steam can run out steam. Completely release any remaining steam/pressure and turn off the machine before opening the lid to add more water. Allow the machine to fully heat the water. my machine takes about 5 minutes to be used and i hear a slight creaking of the nozzle when it is ready - this greatly affects the quality of the espresso and the ability to foam. has to do with the fact that it breaks relatively quickly and can become dangerous. I like the quality of the coffee, the ease of use and the compactness of the device. However, if it breaks after a few months of use, it's not a worthwhile purchase - a waste of a lot of time and money. Uncertainty about other much more expensive machines and their mixed reviews made me give the Capresso another try and order my third car...which hopefully doesn't break. But to be honest I wouldn't recommend it to friends or family.
