Review on 🦎 DGE Reptile Basking Spot Bulb, 100W Infrared Heat Lamp for Bearded Dragon - Red Light Bulbs for Reptiles and Amphibians (2 Pack) by Wendy Rodriguez

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A necessary thing in the household.

I first met infrared incandescent lamps back in the 80s. In 1979 I bought the first rural house with a plot of land for my future dacha. It was slightly shamanized and my uncle and his wife moved into it. They said they were tired of living in the capital, even though in retirement we will live in nature. In those years, my work did not allow me to be constantly in the country. And the uncle, like a native villager, took up the garden and, of course, started chickens. When it was rather cool in autumn, I arrived at the dacha, and my uncle showed me the chicken coop. And that's when I saw these lamps, which were new to me. I began to ask why and why such lamps, but I was told, wait, tomorrow I will show and tell. And in the morning I was taken on an excursion to the collective farm pigsty. We went into the department where there were sows with piglets and here I saw a large number of lamps at the same time. They were hung over the places where the little piglets rested. And the livestock specialist explained that such lamps not only heat, but also partially disinfect. It turns out they have a double benefit. And we first bought incandescent infrared mirror lamps Kalashnikov IKZK 250 W for our household only in 18, when I got my first large incubator. When you see the lamp for the first time, it surprises you with its red color and size. True, it varies depending on the power of the lamp. We use 250W bulbs. and its dimensions in height are 195 mm, and the width of the flask is 130. It operates on 220 V. The manufacturer is Electrolighting LLC from the Tver region. The lamp is packed in the same way as the simplest incandescent lamps. On this carton, the manufacturer wrote a lot of information, including how to use and precautions. It even says that the lamp can only be used with a ceramic cartridge. I use this lamp mainly for heating and drying chickens after the incubator. It is hung over the nest where the chicks will be placed and a thermometer is placed there. By adjusting the distance between the lamp and the socket, we achieve the temperature we need. I turned on the lamp and it not only warms, but also disinfects. Here she is simply irreplaceable. When you have a different bird on the farm, its chicks require different temperatures in the first month of life. Do not build a separate barn for each chicken. This is where this lamp comes in handy again. We create the temperature they need for different chicks. And I hang them on a thin cable, which is wound on an old, metal, fishing reel. The reel is on a ratchet and I adjust the height by winding or releasing the cable. Achieved the desired temperature indicators, the coil on the brake. So very convenient. I used to use this lamp to warm one of our cats and kittens when she brought them under the veranda in winter. Found, and they are almost completely frozen. They put it under a lamp and even steam came out of them. The lamp helped out, the whole cat family remained alive. I told only about two episodes, how you can use this lamp. But it can be used in many cases. I even have a friend, a fisherman like me, dries bloodworms under these lamps, which he then uses in his bait. This lamp has a standard E27 base. The manufacturer guarantees a lamp life of 6500 hours. But that's why it's hard for me to say something. Lamps work for weeks and even two without turning off for a long time. But I somehow did not notice the total time of work. I can only say one thing, even the first lamps bought back in 18 work properly. I consider this a worthy indicator. Therefore, I will give the lamps and their manufacturer a well-deserved five from me, and I will advise you, if you have a subsidiary plot, pay attention to them.
