Review on ๐Ÿ•ถ๏ธ Explore with Style: Ray Ban Outdoorsman Aviator Sunglasses 58 by Jeremy Choi

Ugly colored sweat streak. Uncomfortable around the ears, but they don't slide down the face as intended. Questionable durability.

Remember those old aviators from the 1980's with cable shackles? Well it's not the same. The size and form factor is similar to the standard Ray Ban 58mm aviator which is a classic Ray Ban product. The problem is the sweatband at the top. It looks almost pink. Others have posted very accurate photos. I can see someone with fair skin would look good in them, but going for a black pair might be better. Blonde hair and fair skin probably look good with Arista green lenses and gold frames. The pink streak repels me a lot, because in the summer I tan quickly and have brown hair. I'm an older male with a balding/receding hairline so the color and design doesn't suit me. To be fair, your mileage may vary. Here's the problem with cable cuffs that wrap around your ears. They need a little adjustment to be comfortable. The originals (I still have a 1985 one) have metal cables wrapped in clear silicone. They were and are flexible, being composed of tiny segmented gold metal links with a flex-flex core. You can shape them to match the shape of your ears. Once set, they won't fall off your face. You can wear a hat over your glasses and the temples remain comfortable. These updated frames are not exactly the same. The cables wrap around the ears but don't adjust to the ears, so they become uncomfortable with pressure points after a few minutes. Remember that they need to be bent slightly to put on and take off. Once on your face, they stay in place and won't fall off; the trade-off is that they're uncomfortable. Unfortunately, after only two weeks of light use, one of the cables broke. To me it looks like a close-up of the flexible core is made out of plastic or some other compound. I don't think you can expect them to be made out of titanium at this price point. I'm very gentle with my sunglasses so I find this frustrating and annoying. I had to return mine. Those who like the pink sweatband and prefer flexible cables will stay in the face as intended. Keep in mind that they are not as high quality as the original Ray Bans from years ago. Try before you buy.
