Review on πŸ”§ Enhanced Performance Oil Filter Cover by URO Parts - Now in Aluminum! by Michael Radhakrishnan

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Good alternative and great price. I'm glad I bought it.

2011 335i xDrive N55 fits perfectly. For some reason both o-rings that the new filter has are included. But that's a plus for extra O-rings, they just aren't needed. The birdcage inside is also aluminum and installs fairly easily with pressure and direction, but after trying to insert the filter into the lid and then wanting to remove the filter, the birdcage came out despite having metal protrusions on the inside of the lid. to keep it inside. So when you do your next oil change, you may need to remove the filter, slide the birdcage out of the dirty, tight filter port, clean the cap, and then reinstall the birdcage. My plastic birdcage had a swivel function. Install and twist to fix it, it doesn't work. Just tabs that put pressure on him. A very clean alternative. Clean. as in a good choice, looks good. It scratches easily and leaves marks if placed on concrete or if loosened with a socket or with a serrated oil filter removal tool (a rubber tool that makes a circle around it and presses on itself as the tension will not tighten wanted to). it, all time lost grip and slipped), but that's okay. I wish there was a black or colored version but I'm sure the paint would chip and scratch just as easily. Regardless, my original cap either had a thin crack or the oil cooler gasket on the housing was leaking. (after 9 months when I replaced it 9 months ago) or something because I kept oiling the corner of the body part myself. That's why I bought this as I had a leak somewhere and bought upgrades and a new gasket to stop it. I'm glad I bought it and I'm glad it's good quality! It had those little shipping marks that you can see in the picture so it could have been shipped better with that foam thingy on both sides but whatever. I'm not very picky about that, but I'm sure most of you will be.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Socket required
