🔧 Enhanced Performance Oil Filter Cover by URO Parts - Now in Aluminum! Review

Aluminum is a great substitute for plastic. The downside of what I got is that the oil bypass valve doesn't open. I used the original plastic insert until I can contact the company.

As many other reviews have said, this aluminum replacement suffers from poor casting (excessive residual flow). Also, the filter core assembly does not appear to have been deburred or cleaned "out of shape". The mechanical bypass valve is a poor imitation of the valve designed and implemented by BMW. Buyer warning!

The quality control here is not very good. When I got it, a lot of heavy metal had been lost in that part. The casting is bad and the machine works. The part must be deburred and smooth over the entire surface. You can easily cut yourself by touching the part. In tight places there are large pieces of metal that detach. I would be more confident installing it in my car but not in the condition that I received it. Too much metal is lost at the edges.

I've read blogs about the OEM plastic cap leakage issues and never thought about it until the oil level light flashed a few times. I thought it was just a small puddle of oil at the top after adding the oil. No! Turns out the blogs were right!
