Faulty cabling is best in computers and accessories

I bought this cable to connect my second monitor to a Thinkpad computer dock as I work from home. The cable just doesn't work anymore. I have to play around with plugging and unplugging for a while and sometimes rebooting the whole computer to plug it back in. Very destructive and disappointing.
