Review on 🍥 Koogel 12 Inch Silicone Rolling Pin: Purple, Non-Stick, Ideal for Home Kitchen Cake Baking by Tiffany Pine

I bought 2 sets of these small silicone rolling pins to use with potters and grandkids because they are advertised as having a 'non-stick surface'; and great for kids, "9 inches long and fit for kids." However, I have found that they are not very user or project friendly. Natural air-dry clay adheres to the surface of these pens, while polymer clay works better. For natural, air dry tone, my old 10.5" (rolling pin width without handles) wooden rolling pin provides ample non-stick surface, and my 12" hollow plastic dowel rods provide the best "non-stick" surface for rolling. .Most importantly, the actual roller surface of these small silicone rolling pins is only 3.75 inches, way too short. These rolling pins are 9 inches long from tip to tip, but the rolling surface is only 3.75 inches wide and 7 inches in circumference. I was trying to roll out a small piece of clay and found that the narrow width of the rolling pin leaves streaks on the clay as it rolls out. see drawing. These short rolling pins are not suitable for small or large staging projects. Clay sticks to the rolling surface; and when rolling the clay, the rolling pin leaves streaks on the clay. I would not recommend purchasing these pens for projects that require a smooth finish. I've found that my old wooden rolling pin (18" tip to tip; 10.5" wide; 7" circumference) rolls better than these tiny silicone rolling pins. . Plus, my hollow 12-inch plastic pin makes for cleaner rolling than those tiny rolling pins; although the dowels don't offer a large enough surface area, only 2.5 inches around.
