I just added a Chromecast with Google TV to my home theater system. With my receiver behind the TV, the Google remote couldn't emit an IR strong enough to reach it. It used to be controlled by my Logitech Harmony RF remote, but I didn't want to have one remote for volume and another to control the Chromecast from the GTV. It intervened and works great! No lag, no dead spots in the room - it picks up IR and I don't even have to point the remote at the IR receiver! Now I use my Harmony remote to turn everything on and off and my GTV remote to control everything while we watch TV. Once I have an HDMI-CEC TV, I may ditch the Harmony remote, but this little repeater will still be there, helping me hide unsightly home theater components. If you need an IR repeater, this works great. !
