We will refund these once we get a replacement. We used to have a magnetically operated door and it worked fine. When we needed another one we forgot what brand we had and went with this one. That does not work. We don't put a key/magnet on the collar of a cat that we don't want. He simply leans against her with his massive body and tilts the door until it opens. So we decided to ban all cats by turning the latch to only allow exit: no one will enter once they come out. Our one year old cat simply ripped the entire mechanism off its hinges and left the door in place. Also, the door makes noise! When a cat explores it, it will grope it about 10 times a second and make loud rustling noises until it decides to actually go inside. It is a pity. I've already cut a hole in a 70 year old door to install this and I don't like having to try and install another cat flap.
