I needed very warm and durable gloves for a recent trip to Iceland where I snowmobiled on a glacier and spent a lot of time on various tours in sub-zero temperatures. . These gloves kept my hands warm (although the heating pads I used helped too!). I was snowmobiling on a glacier in about 0 degrees Fahrenheit and moving at about 35-40 miles per hour and my hands were comfortably warm. The glove's wrist area protrudes a few inches above the forearm and slips easily over a winter coat to keep the wind out of the sleeves. Very happy with this purchase.
