All reviews are accurate. This light is bright and emits enough light to drive safely on paved trails at night. This works well even on soft dirt roads. Keep in mind that the light output isn't the widest, so you don't really see too much of what's on the sides of the path. Anything with rock gardens, I would like to use two lamps, one of which has more lumens. When the battery is running low, the red indicator light on the top of the flashlight will light up and everything is fine. It won't turn off until you charge the light. I think you might think this is a good thing, but personally I'd prefer the low light indicator to turn off when the lights are off. Actually just a small detail, but apart from the fact that I like it. It hasn't been too cold here in California, some batteries drain faster in fairly cold weather so only time will tell how well the battery handles colder nights.
