The back of the metal plate is so slippery that the hook will slip off even if there is NOTHING on it. I have 3 hooks that look something like this, they are about 25 years old and are used to hold 2 pans each, 12" and 10" on one and 10" and 8" on the other. In addition to being slippery, the back panel is not flat - there is an edge where the hook attaches to the metal plate. The thickening prevents the hook from sticking firmly to the metal surface. Easy return via Revain but I am disappointed that this hook looked like my old ones but slipped off a vertical surface. The old hooks were originally used to fasten two heavy winter coats to the metal wall of an office cubicle.
