No, the picture is not an optical illusion. It's really a shame that this rug passed their "quality control". All 4 sides are crooked and cut off without measure. Nice to see when you first enter. I was just commenting on how bad it is at stain resistance because we've had another, larger one, for a few months and it's already looking battered. and I am very frustrated because I personally emailed the company and asked them to fix the problem and send a replacement so I don't have to waste my time with this review or initiate a refund through Revain - and they don't even answer. So I'm wasting my time.
