Review on J.A. Henckels International Statement 7-Piece Knife Set with Knife Sharpener - Professional Chef Knife Set, Dark Brown by Ann Champa

Pros: Sharp, inexpensive, decent set of basic kitchen knives with a full shaft so don't expect the handle to snap. Disadvantages: light weight and manufactured (certainly not German Henkels. It's Chinese), thin steel blades. The quality is similar to the Ginsu knife sets advertised in commercials, but with the Henkels name. I was hoping for quality Henkels blades, but found that the entire 7 piece set costs less than a really good Henkels knife. However, these knives were an improvement (sharper) over the older kitchen knives they replaced. Bought recently so I can't comment on durability. If the self-sharpening feature doesn't work and the knives quickly dull or break, I'll come back to this review. This set can be gifted to a young couple just starting to cook, but certainly not something to gift to a foodie or culinary specialist. I experience a mild form of buyer regret, but don't want to deal with returns. and also . As I said, they are sharper than the knives I've used.
