I found them great and easy to use, I even threaded an elastic through them and quite a large lanyard. First I attached the bobby pin to the string or elastic that runs behind the ear, then pinched the two open parts of the bobby pin together and threaded it through the smaller hole and then pulled it out of the larger hole. It was easy. I had a handmade mask but with a very large cord and it worked but the cord was very long. So I took it out and replaced it with a thinner and shorter very thick thread and tied it. I place the knotted part in the opening of the mask, which is on each side of the ear. So they couldn't see where I tied it and then I took a bobby pin, I put the two ends through the small hole and out the big one until the string came out. To get the string into the mask piece I use a paper clip. That way I could just push the paperclip until it came out the other end. Delivery only took two days
