Review on Zona 37 200: High-Capacity 8 Inch and 4 Inch Precision Tool by Guillo Tilden

Turned out better than I thought!

My weekend work has been moved to a portable work station with a tool drawer so space is at a premium. I soldered a lot now and then and always had problems with wick wire. I couldn't find any dedicated heat dissipation devices so I looked around for a tiny vise and settled on this one. I just use it like a big heatsink and clip the solder wire right behind the bare wire. At first I was a little confused by the V-shaped slots in the vise jaws; They make it a bit difficult to attach to the wires. But. I now use this vise for many other electronics related tasks and the vise has proven incredibly useful. The same V-slots are useful for holding switches, many of which I use are rounded or diametrically shaped. When working on some electronic fan projects, it helps to stabilize and hold the fan while I work on it. I recently 3D printed a fan stand and needed to press a threaded brass insert into the stand, which was a plate with a narrow post. Pressing down on the heating insert while trying to hold the stand with your hand or a hand tool would be unstable (and dangerous to your hands). This little vise was the clutch; I simply clamped the stand, positioned the vise so the panel hung over the edge of my workstation, and was able to slowly install and push the insert against the stand. Now this little vise is the main tool!
