Great iron but not for long

I liked how it worked but it stopped working after about a year. I was so sad it works so much better than my current iron. When I'm using it and the cord turns off, it turns off, so when I try to use it, it keeps turning off. I paid $80 and expected it to work for years, my previous cortex was almost 10 years old and still working, it just had broken plates pulling my hair.
