So I had high hopes for this subwoofer. I used to have a DD 1508 subwoofer and loved it before it exploded. Have a subwoofer, built the box to specs to drive a Rockford Prime 750 into 1 ohm. It is getting loud. But not very low, even compared to the other 8 I've had. But what really worries me is the mechanical/engine noise it makes. It's like playing Sub Free Air. So I built another box with a smaller round port. Better. But still there. Then I built the 4th order. With qts 0.72 it looks like he preferred this hull type. I will admit that this was my first 4th order stripe box so I'm sure it's not perfect. But it was by far the best sound box I made for him. He didn't fall as low as he wanted. But then again it was my first and most likely it was my fault. However, this killed the 38-55Hz range. I ended up selling the subwoofer and box for about what I had so no damage was done and it was a good learning experience. But me. With a recommended cabinet size of 1.25 square feet, you could also use a 10 inch subwoofer with a cabinet size of 1.5 square feet. 10 will definitely be quieter and, depending on the quality and performance, also louder.
