Broke 2nd day, waste of money

I have seven kids and I bought these straps for my youngest who is 10 months old. For years I've used Booginhead Pacigrips, which are the same exact style as these. Never in my experience has one of the straps come apart. I've used the same pacifier straps for four different children over the course of ten years and I'm STILL using many of those same straps. They've endured washing and excessive yanking and to this day I've never had one come apart. What will happen is that eventually the metal clasps start to weaken in strength and will begin to slip off, but that's after eight years and being abused by four children, so I really don't see that as a flaw of the booginhead straps. To the contrary, they've been exceptional. These straps were brand-new and this one came apart on the very second day. The string that actually holds onto the pacifier itself, opposite of the metal clip end of the strap, came out one side so that the pacifier simply fell off. The whole point of these is so that you don't lose your pacifier, but that's exactly what happened. It's a shame, because now I find myself wondering at what point the other three straps are also going to come apart and I'm going to lose my kid's pacifier. I either have to stop using them altogether or I've got to take the time to sew and reinforce the ends. I really did like the teething toy that came with the set. But overall I'm incredibly disappointed at the lack of quality in these straps to perform the basic function for which we purchase them. I will stick to the booginhead pacigrips exclusively from now on.

Pros
  • Safe and non-toxic for baby to chew on
Cons
  • The teething toys may not be safe if they break apart or become damaged
