I bought this drive hoping to use it on my work computer (HP) as that computer does not have a built in DVD. I had immediate problems with this drive because the connection would not stay up. I've always made sure it's on a flat surface so nothing gets in the way of plugging it in etc. etc. My computer recognized it for a short time, then every disc I played stopped working. and I would get an error message on my computer. I got so frustrated that I stopped using it and started taking my old laptop to work so I could use the programs I use at work (I'm a teacher and have a lot of tutorial DVDs). I recently got a new laptop. home and tried the DVD drive again. Failed! This thing still doesn't work and when my computer tries to access it I get a message saying there is a problem with the drive. I'm done. I'll get a brand drive. I've learned my lesson.
