At a great price this unit was exactly what I wanted. We are in an apartment with tall, narrow windows. The cable attached to this device is rubberized and has a very small diameter. It slides easily through the screen and window frame, ties into a bundle of cables that rests almost imperceptibly on a ledge where the mercury tip is currently sitting, and collects the external data it needs. , and TIME are displayed and are easy to read. This device does not have a built-in backlight. So if there is no light source at night, you cannot read the face. In our case, sitting by the window, there is enough light for the readings to be legible. Sturdy, keeps accurate time, temperature is VERY ACCURATE and batteries last forever. Highly recommended!
