I had a brilliant idea to convert my SUV into a boarding camper and an even more brilliant idea to use a strut to raise the bed platform. not so easy. The first frames I bought were too strong. If you've just opened your hood, estimating the weight of the strut mount is like flying in the dark. Then I got this. I wish they came with a more detailed installation guide. But I ended up installing one and now it alone supports my bed platform when I raise it. It supports about 75 pounds. It compresses a bit when I let go of the platform after raising it, but I didn't have room for another post and it works well enough. I'll try to add a photo sometime when I get around to it.
