Lexus by Airplane Carriers

I purchased this item in January and have never written a review. It was a difficult decision as I felt other reviews didn't provide the information I needed. So this was a "scary" purchase and I had my fingers crossed for getting the right size. Back then I flew south west to pick up my Yorkie pup. It weighed about two pounds and fit perfectly with a pillow inside. I wrapped pads around the pillow for easy changing when he goes into a stretcher. The pillow is waterproof. I had no trouble getting in and was very comfortable staying inside. I also didn't see any of the humidity that some of the other reviewers had. However, when I traveled it was still cold enough to need a jacket and gloves. I put some toys in it and sometimes asked for ice cream during the flight, but he was cool, calm and collective all 3 flights. Yes, 3 flights! I've traveled quite a bit for this little guy. This stretcher is stylish and doesn't look like a stretcher at all. I really wish there was a sleeve to better attach it to my trolley but I did very well. To date, my Yorkie pup weighs just under 4 pounds and fits well in a carrier with or without a pillow. I would probably remove the pillow because it will have more room and it is designed to be accident free. There are velcro straps so I put a towel down so they don't scratch it. He'll still walk around without a towel in it and enjoys his stretcher as a starting point. He prefers to go through the top but can easily go through a small hole (which he does) but again he's a 4lb Yorkshire. I added photos. This is him when I first met him at the airport. This carrier goes well with any Southwest Airlines seat with enough space. I bought the small and I'm sure the medium will fit as well, but it's too bulky for my needs as my dog fits perfectly in the small. I hope this helps those choosing between two sizes: small and medium. The side pocket is roomy enough to carry your essentials, but depending on what else you need/want you may need something different to carry everything else. A few toys, treats, a spare pee pad will do just fine, leaving room for a few other goodies.

Pros
  • Slips comfortably under an airplane passenger seat
Cons
  • Poorly thought out
