I've read a lot of reviews and articles about buttons being more practical than a touchscreen but I'm so glad I ignored this (bad) advice. The touchscreen is very responsive and works great while driving. However, most of the time I use the menus while getting off my bike (better looking at the trail/road than fiddling with device settings when there are rocks, rocks, trees and traffic). Navigating through multiple menu hierarchies would be a cumbersome time-waster with buttons, as the same function can be performed in a split second with a touchscreen. There is a video review that I totally agree with - are you looking for "Garmin Edge 830 vs 530? My thoughts. Plus the Garmin Radar 515" on YouTube if you can't decide between the 530 and 830 models.
