I have about 8 of them, in 2 houses; they reliably detect water. The batteries are three AAA and seem to run out a bit quickly in say 6 months. You are strong. Less weak than the Dome, but the Dome has a coil extension and possibly a longer-lasting CR2 battery. Some range issues but better than dome for range. I think I have a Gen 2 Leaksmart - not sure!. and the Gen 2 has better battery life than the Gen 1. The only major caveat is that they're expensive. Soon all of this will be connected to the Dome faucet valve via Wink. I chose Leaksmart simply because of the Revain reviews.
