Review on Explorer Mercury Mountaineer Haynes 2002 2010 by Antonio Lofton

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good book but maybe a bit pricey.

I bought this book, the 2002-2010 Haynes Repair Manual for Ford Explorer and Mercury Mountaineer because of its high ratings. I'm glad I did. Haynes repair manuals have a reputation for allowing the average person and mechanics to fix their cars too I think. They show step by step diagrams of where things are including fasteners, how to take things apart, how to put things back together etc. I found this book to be Haynes' usual quality. I opened it up and found that I was intimately familiar with the intricacies of repairing 2002-2010 Ford Explorers and Mercury Mountaineers. However, I found the price of the book itself a bit misleading. The book itself is a bit useless without the purchase of accessories. Be careful, consumers - the accessories themselves add significantly to the cost. I recommend buying a 2005 Ford Explorer Limited with a V-8 engine as an option. I found it to be a great companion to the book - it makes the book so much more useful. Now I can use almost every page of the book, whereas before I found every page almost useless. There are a few pages in the book mostly marked "This page intentionally left blank" and a few charts specifically marked for years other than 2005, but most of the documentation is now up thanks to the purchase of accessories up to date. Good luck. , DR. weird brew
