Short lifespan in security and surveillance

I bought this as an intruder alarm connected to a SmartThings security system. no on/off switch; I plugged it in and hooked it up to a SmartThings switch to get it working (the two components together were cheaper than a Z-Wave/Zigbee siren). The siren was moderately loud and had a constant pitch. It sounded more like a whistle than a siren. After all, I used it as an alarm clock more than anything else. Stops working after 3 weeks of use. I would recommend buying something else unless low cost is a priority and you only need it for temporary use.
