The main problem with this device is the grip. It's positioned so you have to get your thumb out of the way or it will get scratched. You need to put your thumb in the middle of the handle. Also, some pieces of cheese fall through the device in large chunks rather than shreds. Overall it's a good but not great little device. My wife won't use it because it's too heavy for her. I will have no problem using it when changing my grip so I don't get hurt on the crank. The bad thing is that I bought it specifically for my wife. Well, ok!
