Review on Ikea 601 486 78 Tokig Salad Spinner by Darius Carraway

I wasn't expecting anything special just wanted to remove excess water from salads so I can make salads for the next few days and keep them in the fridge . First, the design of this product doesn't allow for excess water to be removed, as the plastic strainer sits right on top of the bowl that catches the water, so the lettuce is always raw at the bottom. The knob is incredibly difficult to turn and I'm a pretty strong guy. If you turn it too hard, it will make grinding noises until the handle comes loose. I've tried filling it only 1/3 full with lettuce and while it's easier to turn, the handle still pops out and can't get rid of the excess water. Finally, the lid/lid is literally impossible to clean as its screen cannot be removed. and your brush/sponge/fingers won't reach in. IKEA usually makes decent products for the price, but this is a terrible fail. How this thing has so many positive reviews and has been on sale for so many years is completely baffling.
