Review on Volcanic 🌋 Gregory Mountain Products Backpack by Nicholas Lim

The backpack is heavy by today's standards, but those extra pounds help it carry the weight very well. It replaces a Dead Bird 95 liter backpack and the same 55 pounds seems to be MUCH lighter on Gregory. However, I'm not sure why every Gregory backpack I've had over the past 56 years has felt cheap and flimsy. From the ripstop nylon that feels slightly worn to the straps that are too flimsy for comfort to the flimsy buckles and laces, NOTHING feels like it will take a hit or last a while. A flock of dead birds weighed the same, but looked like they could withstand a nuclear blast by comparison. I suspect after 3-4 rides with a heavy load I'll have to buy another one of these.
