It’s ok, but… for my opinion

Finally, I thought, I had found a frame that would work (for the picture I had). This is a beautiful painting of my wife (when she was a little girl) and her grandma. It is painted after a picture and it captures very much how she always felt about the relationship between the two.So, I needed a frame that blends with the colors and the scheme but also has a matte that would fit. In both aspects, this looked right in the description but the reality falls a little short.1. Frame. ‘Driftwood’ suggested an inherent quality of having character. This tram doesn’t. It looks like a wood imitation of Greyson wood that has received a lime wash. But it also look s very ‘regular’ and basically like a cheap reproduction.2. Size. It clearly says 8 x 12 visible area with matte. Well, it is only 7 1/2 x 11 1/2 wich simply means, part of the painting is cut off. Because 1/2 short is a very visible area. So, my intention, to make this look precious and being able to ‘gift’ it to her was severely undermined as the frame looks cheap and it doesn’t fit the painting.

Pros
  • High quality, love the mat and came with hanging hardware.
Cons
  • The frame may not be as durable as other options on the market
