Review on 🧹 IVAC 10031 010 Automated Vacuum Switch: Enhance Your Cleaning Efficiency by Dre Fishburne

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Failed miserably - but. . .

UPDATE #1 - After originally writing this review, my third blockage also died on me. I ran additional diagnostics on each unit and found that the faults were not in the reset buttons, but in the relay that turns on the vacuum circuit when the unit is powered by the tool circuit. I contacted IVAC Technical Support and was granted a return authorization and directed to ship the units to a repair facility in upstate New York. That's how it is now. When the refurbished units return I will provide another update and review. I have bought three of these devices (at different times) and two have not disappointed me. The first problem with the two failed units is that the reset buttons on the vacuum circuit do not reset properly. However, another problem is self-inflicted. The vacuum pumps connected to these two failed units have half the peak power that the switch is rated for. Which is odd, since the switch that still works is hooked up to a vacuum that's rated for 6 peak horsepower, which is one horsepower. more than the switch is designed for. Another problem I've encountered is that the documentation that came with the switches states that both switch circuits are rated for 15 amps at 120VAC. However, the labeling on the switches themselves states that both circuits are rated for a maximum current of 12 amps at 120.

Pros
  • 2640 TOTAL WATT Two power cords allow operation of two separately protected circuits.
Cons
  • So far so good
