Review on ☕ Zojirushi EC-YTC100XB Coffee Maker: Premium Stainless Steel/Black 10-Cup Brewer by Kimberly King

Overall I'm happy with this coffee maker. It replaces the Cuisenart, which I vowed never to buy again from a company that doesn't mind using a terrible $90 LCD. I read a review of the WireCutter coffee maker but settled on the OXO brand due to its height and some other minor issues. They rejected the previous version of the Z because the brewing temperature was below 200 degrees Fahrenheit and the brewing was slow. Both criticisms apply to this new model, which is why I'm deducting a star. I have measured coffee dripping into the carafe at no more than 185 degrees. Even with a few degrees of cooling, it's still a bit chilly with the atomizer running through the beans and filter. On the positive side, the decanter is really good. If you only make 3-4 cups, it won't appear very hot, but 7-8 cups will stay steamy for hours. I knew the limitations of decanters so my expectations were properly aligned and I can appreciate the quality of this decanter. The detachable water tank is easy to use and clearly marked. The timer is easy and I have no problem setting start times in 10 minute intervals. With locally ground coffee, I'm happy with the taste of the coffee despite the low brewing temperature. It tastes just as good as the Cusisenart it replaced, and even better the coffee tastes just as good 2 hours after I made it instead of the burnt, undrinkable coffee you get from keeping the coffee pot warm with a hot plate . I would recommend this coffee maker if you are not obsessed with temperature or long brew times, everything else about it makes for a good experience. If I had to do it again I would buy the previous model because. I don't really see the difference: it's no faster and no hotter, and the declared strait seems imperceptible.
