They claim "bright white" and the equivalent of 60W, but these bulbs are like that. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing if that's what you're looking for. Remember that "bright" is white and "daylight" is white light, but bright is brighter and harder on the eyes. But they certainly make you see things clearly. I wanted new bulbs for the pop-up lights over the kitchen sink and breakfast bar. Warm white is not enough. Too much bright white. "Daylight" light turned out to be exactly what I wanted. Remember these are large bulbs - longer than regular bulbs. And there's this little pointy end at the top of the globe. In a fixture with a lampshade with a hole at the bottom, this bulb will likely dangle. And I don't know if these bulbs are curved in their sockets, or if it's just the length that accentuates the curve of the socket - they always sit at an angle in the socket, not straight. ** Also keep in mind something else that caught my eye: in the frosted white glass lampshade of the lights I've looked at, the filaments of these Edison bulbs shine through the frosted glass as dark streaks. I've found several Edison bulbs with frosted rather than clear glass. There were no thread streaks on these frosted balls.
