Review on ANCEL HD3100Pro Regeneration Freightliner International by Tony Elliott

Gives tons of information

This scanner has its pros and cons. Pros: First off, it scans everything, and I mean everything! When you perform a scan on this scanner, it takes into account whatever data the dealership can provide and presents it to you on the screen. Well if you know what you are looking at it's awesome, if not it can be quite overwhelming. Unlike other similar scanners, this one will certainly give you more information on what's wrong with your truck, but others only give you a quick overview, which can sometimes be more helpful. If you need quick troubleshooting, this scanner is not for you. In addition, it has a wide and bright touchscreen with good touch sensitivity. It is easy to navigate and intuitive to use. The menu buttons are big too, which I really appreciate! As far as setup goes, it just plugs in and is ready to go. No complicated battery or charging dock procedure - it's easy to use and fits in your glove box for storage! Unfortunately, it doesn't tell you how to reset the codes at all, and doesn't do it automatically even after a problem. Firmly. I had to use a completely different scanner to clear the codes. I don't know if it's because I just can't find the right function in the menu, but according to other reviews, this has been a constant problem for people. Overall this is a great scanner with easy to use menu reading and navigation controls. This gives you just enough information about your car that can be useful for understanding the model's software or hardware, but it ends up being difficult to understand unless you have a ton of basic knowledge. I recommend it to drivers who know their truck well and know how to use car jargon!
