Review on 🍫 Deckfast Stainless Fascia Screws Chocolate: Durable and Stylish Connectors for Decking Projects by Dylan Deng

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Little help with curvature of the fascia. Better to use from the beginning.

My deck was built just a few years ago and the plate was attached with the same screws as the deck. Water, snow and ice must have built up between several panels of the fascia, causing the standard decking screws used to attach the fascia to literally snap in half. Ironically, they never pulled through the fascia. Ultimately, this led to twisting and deformation of the end boards in several places. I removed a few screws and initially tried replacing them directly with these after using a countersink. Unfortunately the shank of the screw is about the same size as the existing hole of the removed screw so there wasn't enough force to re-tighten. Angling works better, but also makes it difficult to have a flat screw head. Also the new holes didn't cut very well as the threads are not very aggressive. I was able to use clamps in a few places to assemble everything first and then use screws which really helped. Elsewhere I had to use a long aggressively threaded construction screw with large washers to pull the faceplates back in place. Before. Some areas that needed minor tweaks worked flawlessly. If given the chance I would just start building with them and hopefully avoid warping from the start. Her head is the size of a coin, which seems to be enough. One improvement I would suggest is more aggressive threading and possibly a larger shank to better fill the hole where it replaces the screw.
