I bought this model for a number of reasons: 1) Next day delivery was offered. 2) The display shows more than just a code number. 3) it had 4 buttons instead of two, meaning navigation would be easier. There are cheaper models that just show the code and then you can search for the code online. Whilst I was still looking for the codes here to better understand them it was nice when I found the code online, the description on the Ancel AD310 matched what I found so I knew I had the correct code would have. Even if you don't intend to fix the car yourself, it can be a good idea to have one of these so you know what's going on BEFORE you pick up your car.
