Great printer for beginners who like to tinker

My husband and I wanted to get into 3D printing. We did quite a bit of research before deciding on this one. I don't usually write reviews but it was so difficult to find information about this printer that I want to add a little more in case anyone is looking for a printer to buy. Our criteria were as follows. We needed decent print quality, space to expand the printer once we got our feet wet, and a machine that would work well enough without modifications to get us off to a good start. It also had to be quiet as we wanted to install it in our living space. What we liked about this printer is the ease of setup (we were precise and followed clear instructions), good prints right out of the box, most upgrades are already included (auto bed leveling, quieter motherboard, decent Bowden couplers, better extruder, etc .). d.). There isn't much information on the web about this printer compared to other printers of a similar price range, but the reliability of the parts that come with it more than makes up for it. I recommend this printer to people who like to tinker, as learning how to calibrate certain aspects of the print that involve firmware (Chitu firmware instead of Marlin) and setting up the Octoprint required a few extra steps. There was also an issue with the printer where we had to fix a weird under-extrusion. This resulted in the hot end side of the Bowden hose not being cut straight, creating a plastic plug between the nozzle and the hose. I'm not taking a star off for this because it's still a great printer and I've always been impressed by how well it works even when plugged in. As with any device designed for consumer use, there are things to check and maintain, so don't expect it to print well without a lot of effort. But even after a lot of research and now that I know what all the dots on the box mean, if I had to do it all over again I'd still happily buy this one. We have been successfully printing both PLA and ABS for a few weeks.
