About 20 years ago my son fell asleep on our lazy boy recliner and in the morning woke up with a bloody nose that had the cushion covered in blood and there wasn't enough time for me to even think about how I was going to clean it before I had to go to work. I picked up some of this on my way home and by that time alot of it had already dried and I didn't have much hope. I mixed it according to the directions and put it in the squirt bottle it had come with and that's when I saw the most amazing cleaning miracle I'd ever seen in my life. The moment it hit the blood stain the blood disappeared. It didn't do any damage to the cushion or it's color but the blood was gone. I don't know what else I used the rest of it on but that's the one thing about it that impressed the heck out of me.Skip ahead 20 years and I got a new GE washer and it has a sanitize with Oxi cycle which I believe is intended to serve a purpose that you can't actually see but it does recommend using this cycle for heavily soiled laundry as well. That being said I have no way of saying whether using Oxi Clean helped sanitize the items I washed but I can't say I noticed any difference in how clean the clothes were but I still can't say anything bad about the product. The washer performs exceptionally well and cleans clothes so well on other cycles that once I thought about it I realized I couldn't expect to see noticeable results like I would have if I'd compared it to the results of my previous washer. So in summary, I've seen amazing results when using this stuff and would recommend it to anyone who needs to clean up blood unless the blood is from something illegal in which case I'm not saying it won't work but I can't recommend using it either because next thing you know I'll be reviewing prison food and I'm not even sure how all that stuff works. As far as laundry goes, I honestly can't say one way or the other. It most likely aids in sanitizing but whether it's more effective than hot water alone I couldn't say. My washer outperforms in comparison to every washer I've ever used in its ability to clean without using the cycle this was designed to be used in so I can't say I noticed a difference but I realize it's not likely I would. Using this as directed I don't even think I got 10 loads from the container but I know it didn't last very long.I won't buy it again unless I have something blood stained to clean because otherwise it's expensive and doesn't go very far and I don't know if it even does anything.
