I am an adult and only bought the 27" board to ride in the area and on nearby trails. box) the board rides smoothly. The board is wrapped in plastic but is easy to remove if you remove the axles first. I think this board is good for beginners who just want to ride. Before the last time I rode it, I skateboarded in high school (almost 10 years ago). However, I found this board light and comfortable to ride. If you just want some driving without breaking the bank this is a great buy. You can always upgrade to a nicer board later. And if you are an adult who wants to start skateboarding, remember that skateboarding is 90% mind and 10% body. Enjoy the ride dude!
