Good for second monitor

I had a second monitor VGA port on a Dell Optiplex, the other was DP and worked like a charm. I needed an inexpensive second monitor, the old one had burned out. Therefore no newer monitor has VGA and at best HDMI, hence this choice. It is important to remember that this is an analog to digital conversion in the device. Therefore, you may not get what you expected. The device needs power, I used the USB port. No power, no monitor. Second, I have the audio on a separate device, so don't worry. Set up quickly, works. hope it lasts The color is a bit weak and for some reason the monitor is not recognized as a Dell. I suspect it's because it's a simplex connection, from VGA to HDMI. No feedback can be obtained on your computer for identification. Again, and an inexpensive backup that I use to keep track of emails on the home screen. not bad. Colors off, trying to tweak but I'll play around a bit more. Color management is a bit cumbersome. I tried shooting a warm color scheme, but sometimes the screen went blank. But I will persevere. I switched to the USB3 to HDMI interface, which is much better. Clarity has been improved, and this device experienced annoying screen dimming frequently and for unknown reasons. If you have a USB3 port use that, if VGA is present on an older computer this may be your only choice.
