Review on TULA Balancing Purifying Refreshing Impurities by Jason Sluck

Revainrating 3 out of 5

too small and thin; Enriched with essential oils and extracts

This is my first experience with TULA skin care products. The Balancing Act toner pads are packaged and sealed in a blue plastic flip-top tin. It was difficult to remove the cover to remove the liner. I couldn't easily unscrew it so I had to use brute force to pry off the top. Otherwise I would have had to cut the security seal through the hinged lid. I wouldn't normally have a problem with a smaller toner, but when it's so thin that it's difficult to use with a very small one, then there's a problem. These pads are fragile, transparent, and will curl or curl as you use them. As for the formula, I have sensitive skin and found I couldn't use it on my face. The heavy use of various essential oils and extracts (cloves, cumin, lime oil, rosemary, peppermint, eggplant, basil, peppermint, blueberry, cranberry and lavender) in combination with witch hazel was too much for me. Just because something is natural doesn't mean it's suitable for all users. If you try them, please test them first. Of course they smell like witch hazel. I was able to use them on razor blade pumps and it was comforting (since witch hazel is good for things like that) but I won't buy them if I can get a cheap bottle of witch hazel. Because of the ingredients and unusable cheap pads I will probably not take them anymore.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Expensive
