Review on 🔭 Nikon 7483 PROSTAFF 8x25 Waterproof All-Terrain Binoculars by Scott Gendron

Sharpness: excellent Flatness of field of view: very good Ergonomics: excellent Eye relief: without glasses - excellent, with glasses - very good Both these binoculars are very comfortable to hold in the hand and to your eye. Sharpness and contrast are excellent except when facing a bright light source. This is when flare occurs and contrast suffers. These binoculars are prone to flare and that is my only criticism of them. The rubberized surface is perfect. It imparts a grippy texture that's easy to hold but doesn't have the sticky quality that attracts some lint and dirt. The design of the eyecup is great and has a relatively large ring diameter and a fairly wide surface, which is very comfortable. I mentioned this because most mini cameras have an undersized eyecup that extends too far into the eye socket causing discomfort. In use, they resemble a medium-sized pair of binoculars. The focus knob feels very comfortable. Very smooth with no play. The large-diameter focus knob is similar to what you'll find on full-size binoculars, and it's better than most minis. The simple case it comes in is very handy and has a belt loop. As light as they are, they easily wear a belt. The rain cover (eyepiece cap) works well, although not as tight as I would like. I like the inverted porro prism design of these (and other manufacturers) more than the roof prism design of mini binoculars because they feel more solid and are easier to hold. Other binoculars I currently have: Leica 8x32 BN, Leica 10x42 BA. I have also had Leica, Minolta and Celestron mini binoculars in the past. Overall it's a great pair of binoculars considering it's a budget compact and I think it's a great price.
