I really like this stand. I actually have another one, but I bought this stand because the one I had was just a solid piece of metal with no moving parts. I had my own concerns when I bought it, thinking that a stand with any moving parts might be a bad idea. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the back of the stand is very solid and firmly assembled. It takes some effort to adjust, but I really appreciate this feature as it would probably fall everywhere if it was easy to adjust. The stand is nice and thick aluminum and I'm pretty sure it is. it will withstand years of abuse. I tried poking around the rubber stoppers on the stand to make sure they wouldn't fall off with a little rubbing. I couldn't move them. My 15" and 17" laptops fit perfectly on this stand and stay nice and cool with regular use.
